This policy describes what happens to data when you visit US Jobs Map. It reflects what the site actually does. If we change how the site works, we change this page.
What we do not collect
There are no user accounts, no login, and no newsletter. We do not ask for your name, email address, résumé, employment history, or any other personal detail, and there is no form on this site that collects one.
What is collected automatically
Our web server records standard request logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, referring page, and browser user-agent string. These logs are used to operate the site and diagnose faults. They are retained for 14 days and then deleted. Separately, Google Analytics collects the data described under “Cookies and analytics” below.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and how they arrive.
It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_<id>) in your browser to
distinguish one visit from another. These cookies hold a randomly generated identifier — not
your name, email address or anything you have told us, because we do not ask for those.
Google Analytics receives your IP address in order to derive an approximate location. On this property, Google's IP anonymisation applies by default and we do not enable Google Signals, advertising personalisation, or any cross-site advertising feature. We do not upload user-provided data to Google, and we do not use Analytics data to build advertising audiences. Advertising cookies are a separate matter, described under “Advertising” below.
If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and any browser setting or extension that blocks the Analytics script will also work. Nothing on this site depends on Analytics being loaded — blocking it does not degrade the pages.

Advertising
US Jobs Map is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. The terms in this section govern that advertising. Status: ads are not yet running on this site — the account is pending review. Nothing described below happens until they are.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and⁄or other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Opting out stops personalisation; it does not stop ads from appearing.
Third-party ad networks other than Google's may also be served through AdSense. We do not control which vendors Google admits, what cookies they set, or what they do with the data. Their practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.
This site is aimed at people looking for work in the United States and does not target visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. If you are in one of those regions and want no cookies set at all, the opt-outs above and any cookie-blocking browser setting both work, and nothing on this site breaks when they are used.
Outbound links
Job listings link to the site that published them — an employer's careers page, a government vacancy system, or a job-search platform. Once you follow such a link you are on their site under their policy, not ours. We have no control over and take no responsibility for their practices.
Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with comparable law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and to object to its processing. In practice what we hold is a server log entry tied to an IP address (14 days) and Google Analytics measurement data tied to a cookie identifier (14 months). We cannot link either to a named person, so a request needs enough detail to identify the records — ordinarily an IP address and approximate date.

Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
